Job Description
Forum Subsea Technologies require a Training & Support Lead to manage the day-to-day Training of the Macaé operations support facility, based in Rio das Ostras, Brazil reporting direct to the Operations Manager.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver ROV and related training courses in Brazil, working closely with Kirkbymoorside to ensure that Forum standards are applied.
- Manage other training courses (e.g. tooling; winches/LARS; VisualSoft). Training to be provided where necessary
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop the workshop technical staff’s capacity to deliver training courses in their own areas of expertise.
- Develop other training activities to meet requirements identified in the market (e.g. ROV pilot training).
- Secure training course bookings from customers, prepare course materials and collaborate with administrative staff on the commercial aspects including pricing and proposals.
- Advise on training equipment needed, and ensure that it is properly maintained
- In close collaboration with the technical supervisor in charge (“Responsável Técnico”), ensure that all workshop activities deliver quality excellence in line with Forum standards and customer expectations.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to customers, the Operations Manager and other workshop staff as necessary.
- Under the leadership and guidance of Kirkbymoorside, provide the local point of focus for the management of specific projects (e.g. ROV, SOES preventative maintenance).
- Occasional offshore work may be required.
- To provide a technical support to the clients of Forum around the world but especially in Brazil, working closely with Kirkbymoorside to ensure that Forum standards are applied.
- To provide consulting services to perform a preventive plan of maintenance to the clients,
- To be involved with client mobilizations of new systems when required.
Accountabilities: (Deliverables)
Although reporting to the Operations Manager, Brazil, the jobholder will have frequent contact with the Systems Integration Manager, based in Kirkbymoorside, Aberdeen Operations Manager and other Forum staff worldwide as necessary.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Technician or higher level qualification in a relevant discipline
- Understanding of ROV related Electrical/Electronic/Control Systems.
- Understanding of ROV related Hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of the electrical and hydraulic symbols and ability to read and understand technical drawings and other technical documentation.
- Technical writing for manuals and presentations.
- Ability to deliver work to deadlines, without supervision.
- Flexibility, adaptability and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills with natural confidence, enthusiasm and drive
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- English language, written and spoken, at fully effective operational level
- Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proven training delivery techniques.
- Minimum 3 years’ offshore experience at ROV Supervisor level, preferably with Forum ROV and associated products.
